Well, there comes that point where all the training may pay off - or maybe not. how fun! regardless of the outcome, as Asher says, "it's about the journey, not the destination," right? i dunno....something about failing in a race doesn't seem so chock-full-of-valuable-lessons to me. i'd prefer a PR, personally.
So here we go .... get ready, arizona, dyronman's en route. and here's to a PR for casey, or at least a bq, and a sub-3-hour PR for Geoff, while we're at it!
ran 18. 7:48/mile ave. ave HR 143. feeling great!
November 2 swam 3500.
November 3 swam 3500, biked 18.
November 4 biked 13, ran 10 hilly course.
your turn!
He hee, can't wait D! Give me a call, lets finalize plans so that you can rest easy. Can't wait!
Been tough getting workouts, state meet was Sat, Boys ran weak, 2 sick but it was a HUGE dissappointment to finish 8th, there was no beating the top boys team, though that is little consolment at this point. The girls ran awesome, 4th, 6th, 7th were our first 3, we ended up 2nd over all and with the first 3 putting it out there like that, well that is about as good as it gets. No runs in three days, oops, going long tomorrow with a day off work, 12 I hope, maybe more. Sophia's 1st birthday on Thursday, hard to believe...
MUCH LOVE
Geoff
november 6, biked 50, swam 2000, ran 5 in FL
november 7 - watched a little IMFL - congrats to all the finishers i know, who ALL PR'ed! Awesome!
november 8, ran 18 2:21
november 10, swam 4250 before heading out for business trip. now am up way too late due to first-night-out-of-town insomnia. bout to solve it by 1. shutting down computer, 2. turning off lights, 3. laying head down on pillow. wow. i should've thought of that 3 hours ago...
p.s. IMAZ goals: 1. sub-1-hour swim. 2. sub-4-hour marathon.
all else is icing.
ran 10 this morning. 9:30's for the first 4 (with a friend), 7:15's for the last 6. ave HR 130.

That's a PR by 1:09. And a negative split by 1:11. The weather was perfect. It rained for 3 straight days, and finished over night. It was about 50 degrees the whole race. I started to cramp at 25.5, so don't know why that was my best mile. Never had to stop. I think I'm going to be happy with this as a PR, and hang up any realistic hopes of a 3:20. I'M HAPPY!
CASEY!!!!!!!!!! Fantastic! Way to go, bro! Now I've got to represent for the group in one week.
Nov 13 swam 2,000, biked 20.
Nov 14 ran 10.
Nov 15 biked 50.
Ahh. True taper time begins. The legs wee quite jittery during meeting today. Good sign!
Geoff, Javelina is coming with me via Southwest, so no worries on shipping. The logistics stress has begun!
Nice Casey, beautiful consistancy. D, let me know what you need then. Still planning on Friday dinner, let me know about menu (don't wanna mess with your tummy) Saturday if you need, and Sunday post race shower (I am on your way to Sedona so take 5 to clean up and feel refreshed if you like.) 74 degrees is the estimated high on Sunday, low in the mid 40s, chilly in the shade, awesome in the sun, wind has been hit or miss. We (Cherish and Kids) are planning to join you in Sedona prior to your departure. Yeah baby! We are ready for you.
My training has been weak for a week, back on track today!
MUCH LOVE,
Geoff
Great race Dyron! Close to a PR, right? I see you picked it up the last few miles of the run...that takes some guts. Good job!!
